At Maple Publishers, we care about your privacy. We are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to our website. In particular, we want you to know that any information collected by Maple Publishers is for our own records alone and will not be shared with any third party. We do not sell, rent or trade email lists with other companies and businesses for any purpose.
Below you will find detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others, and how we keep it secure.
When you purchase something from Maple Publishers, your name, address, email, and contact number will be stored in our e-commerce system. Without this data, we would not be able to supply you with your purchase. Please be assured that we do not share your personal details with any other company without your consent, although your name, address and, on occasion, telephone number will be visible to the postal service that we use on the package label, for obvious reasons.
Telephone numbers are collected only to help delivery drivers on those occasions where they cannot find your house or if we have a query on your order. We record your email address so that we can update you on the progress of your order, and so that we can send you our regular newsletter and other mailings. (See “Types of data we collect: Mailing List” below.)
Payment information (for example credit card numbers) is handled solely by our payment gateway provider, Stripe. We do not collect or store your payment data.
When someone visits this website, we use Google’s Analytics service to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site, what devices they are using, and what country they are from. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone.
Cookies and similar technologies on our website allow us to track your browsing behaviour, links clicked, items purchased, your device type, and to collect various data, including analytics, about how you use and interact with our website.
We publish a regular email newsletter, which is sent via our company email account. From time to time we also send other notices to the same mailing list.
People may become subscribers to the mailing list by a number of channels: a request via our website, by manually signing up to the mailing list (for example, at a conference), or by submitting their name and email address during the purchase process.
Customers may choose to opt out of the mailing list by unticking the relevant box during the purchase process. Subscribers to the mailing list may also unsubscribe at any time by following the link at the bottom of every mailing. This process complies with Recital 47 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and with the e-Privacy Directive as direct marketing is a “legitimate interest” of the data controller.
We do not sell, rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
